Since emergencies and crises are generally of a low-frequency, high-consequence nature, their devastating impacts are often erased with time from organisational memory. Thus, such events recur with disturbing frequency, whether within the organisations or industries. This unfortunate trend continues to modern day, irrespective of the advances in science and technology. This ruinous destruction will see no end if organisations do
not invest conscientiously in active preparedness endeavours.
